November is a great time to take a moment to give thanks to something or someone in your life.

At this point I breathe a big sigh of relief and give great thanks that we have (seemingly) emerged from the Pandemic Crisis and our Club is still here to provide great jobs for 30+ staff, support you in your fitness journey, and to embrace our wonderful community.

THANK YOU for believing in us…we believe in you too!

I am especially thankful that this last year we were able to re-invest in the club by installing a long-desired and finally achieved project – our roof repair and solar panel installation (see the article below). If you haven’t noticed, we have a massive metal roof! There’s about 50,000 square feet up there and the 240 solar panels are all on the south side, doing their work to produce about 68% of our energy.

I am also incredibly thankful that we are in a position to support our community through a variety of giving to total over $38,000 this year.

This included services and donations to:
• Arthritis Foundation
• Blue Heron Montessori School
• Hillcrest Chapel
• SQHS PTSA Boys Tennis Team
• Whatcom Rowing Association
• Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center
• Blue Skies for Children
• The Fairhaven Association
• Lions Club
• Bellingham School District Tournament
• World Bicycle Relief Foundation
• Whatcom Community Foundation
• Skagit Valley Tennis Association
• Skagit Symphony
• Bellingham High School Band Boosters
• 4 year-long High School Student Tennis Scholarships (valued at $3,225 per student)
• 9 High School State Qualifier (5-month) Scholarships
• AND 1,000s of tennis balls given away to happy dogs!

We are grateful to have the opportunity to support our community.

And we love celebrating you! I hope you’ll join us at our Member Appreciation Night on November 10th from 5:30-8:00pm.

We’ll have catered appetizers, beverages, spin the wheel for prizes AND we will feature a Silent Auction with 100% of proceeds to benefit the Arthritis Foundation. We have over 40 wonderful gifts donated by members and local businesses to help raise money for a cause near and dear to my …. Knees, and now my big toe.

I’m having a minor surgery on Monday next week because of osteoarthritis in my foot/big toe. That adds up to my total of 11 surgeries due to arthritis. I hope you’ll join me in supporting the Arthritis Foundation by:
