There’s something powerful about watching a young athlete step onto the court for the first time and realize they belong there. Not just for a moment—but fully, confidently, and without hesitation.
For many kids, that sense of belonging isn’t guaranteed. It’s made possible.
Tennis, like many sports, can come with barriers—equipment, court time, lessons, tournament fees. These costs add up quickly, and for families already stretching their resources, access to the sport can feel out of reach.
BTTC scholarships help close that gap. They turn “maybe someday” into “right now.” And the impact goes far beyond forehands and backhands.
When a student receives a BTTC scholarship, they’re gaining more than time on the court. They’re gaining structure, mentorship, and a place to grow. They’re learning how to set goals, how to stay committed when things get hard, and how to carry themselves with resilience and integrity.
These are skills that extend far beyond tennis—they show up in school, in relationships, and eventually, in careers and communities.
Research consistently shows that young people who participate in sports are more likely to graduate high school, develop strong social connections, and build lifelong habits around health and well-being.
When financial barriers are removed, more kids get the chance to experience those benefits. Access matters—not just for individual growth, but for the health of our entire community.
There’s also something deeply meaningful about being invested in. When a student knows that someone believes in them enough to support their journey, it can shift the way they see themselves.
It can spark confidence.
It can open doors they didn’t know were possible.
Sometimes, it can change the entire trajectory of their life.
And the impact doesn’t stop with one person.
When we invest in young athletes, we’re also investing in future leaders, mentors, and community members.
These students often go on to give back—to coach, to volunteer, to support the next generation coming up behind them. It becomes a cycle of generosity and growth, one that strengthens the fabric of a community over time.
BTTC scholarships are, at their core, an act of belief. A way of saying: You matter. Your goals matter. Your future is worth investing in.
And when we create more opportunities for young people to step onto the court—regardless of their background—we create a stronger, more connected, and more inclusive tennis community for everyone.
