It can feel uncomfortable. It can push us out of rhythm and make us ask “WHY?”
If you’ve been part of BTTC for a while, you may have felt it—things shifting, evolving, changing. And with that can come a quiet question: Is this place still for me?
And if you’re newer here—or considering joining—maybe the question is: Is this a place I can see myself in?
We’ve been thinking about both.
Last week, four members of our BTTC leadership team traveled to San Diego for the Health & Fitness Association (HFA) Show—one of the largest gatherings of fitness professionals, equipment makers, and industry leaders in the world.
We went to learn from experts, to connect with people thinking deeply about the future of fitness and tennis, and to reflect on how we can continue showing up for this community in the best way possible.
We tested new equipment, recovery tools, and technology, and we had a lot of meaningful conversations—not just about what’s new, but about what actually matters.
And one of the biggest takeaways wasn’t about chasing the next big thing.
It was the opposite.
Again and again, we heard: don’t follow every fad. Stay rooted in what you do well. Know your community. Build from there.
That resonated deeply with us.
Because at BTTC, what we do well isn’t just equipment or programming—it’s people. It’s the relationships you build here. It’s the confidence that grows over time. It’s the feeling of walking into a space where you’re known, supported, and encouraged to keep going.
We know many of you—especially those who have been here for years—care deeply about that feeling. We want to say this clearly: we do too. We are not here to change the heart of BTTC. We are here to protect it, nurture it, and help it grow.
At the same time, growth does mean change. And change can feel uncomfortable.
One speaker shared something that stuck with us: when we feel uncomfortable, it often means we’re growing. It’s true in the gym, on the court, and in life. We don’t get stronger by staying the same—we grow by stretching, trying, and sometimes doing things that feel unfamiliar at first.
Our goal is to hold that balance thoughtfully.
To continue supporting the members who make this place what it is—and to create space for new members to feel like they belong here too. That means being intentional about inclusion, accessibility, and building a community that reflects a wider range of experiences and backgrounds.
It also means not losing sight of what matters most:
Building confidence at every age and stage
Creating a space where people feel genuinely cared for
Continuing to improve—thoughtfully, not reactively
One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was the time we spent together as a leadership team. Away from the day-to-day, we had space to talk honestly about our mission, our values, and the kind of place we want BTTC to be—not just now, but years from now.
Those conversations grounded us and reminded us that every decision should come back to the people in this community.
We’re coming back not with a list of trends, but with a renewed sense of purpose. You may see some changes —new ideas, updated spaces, different offerings—but they will be thoughtful, aligned, and rooted in the experience we want you to have here.
And we want you to know: your voice matters in this process. Truly. If something feels exciting, uncertain, or worth sharing—we want to hear from you. This club is shaped by all of us.
Thank you for being part of this community, for growing with us, and for trusting us to evolve in a way that honors what BTTC has always been at its core.
Sincerely, The BTTC Leadership Team
Lex, Denise, Angie, and ErinJoy
