“From the end spring new beginnings.”
~ Pliny the Elder
It finally feels like winter is over and Spring has sprung.
This is a time to embrace the longer day and take advantage of all the opportunities that more daylight may offer us. Just like there are new leaves on the trees, BTTC changes it up for the summer.
Here are some of what is ahead for the next few months:
• We have our annual fantastic junior camps and have added some one-day adult camps in August.
• There are also the outdoor leagues that are open to all and a great way to meet new people and enjoy the outdoors.
• We have booked a fun trip to Lake Chelan for a Tennis Camp at Harmony Meadows. For those that aren’t playing tennis there are fun bike rides in the valley with Robin, wine tasting and a BBQ.
• We are hosting 2 free clinic days for middle school and high school students June 20th and August 29th.
• We still have all the clinics that are a great way to keep your game sharp and learn some new things.
• We have a USTA Junior Jam 1 Day Tournament on July 20
• The annual Bellingham City Open sponsored by BTTC and Louis Auto Glass August 9-11. Always some great competitive tennis.
• The annual Club Scrub June 17 & 18. This is our way of Spring Cleaning to make the club feel new, fresh, and sparkly clean.
• We also have one of the biggest changes since the new addition and remodel. Robin will be handing off her position to Denise Skelton. This is a chance for Robin to have a new beginning as well as BTTC having some fresh eyes to continue to serve up new programs and strengthen what we already do so well.
The consensus by many is that people don’t like change. Well without change I believe we grow a bit static. I certainly look forward to all that is ahead and plan on enjoying the longer days and the opportunities that are on the horizon.
